the trail trial 12 Aug ’23

On behalf of the people of East Grinstead, we very kindly offered to visit some of the venues included in the Food & Drink Trail experience and try some of what is on offer. You’re welcome!

We think the only way to visit all the places included within one week is to group them together and visit a few each day.

So on Saturday afternoon we started off at the Gurkha Restaurant, moving onto Va Nak Kam, then Dom Domingo, Quartol and finally onto The Mug Tree.

We had an amazing time, the food was delicious and it we had the opportunity to meet the chefs and owners of these wonderful places. 

Ghurka restaurant

We met Mr Pandey and were offered popadoms & dips with luscious Sweet Chilli Chicken and Onion Bhaji. 

Gurkha are offering a choice of starter on Mon 12-2pm/Tues-Thurs 12-4pm.

va nak kam

A stunning Sri Lankan Restaurant, we met the very friendly and chatty brothers, Dino and Krish. We tried the most delicious Lentil Fritter and Mutton rolls.

With the trail card Va Nak Kam are offering Taste of Ceylon short eats valid on 3rd, 7th, 8th and 9th Sept 12-2pm.

dom domingo

You can expect to receive a very warm welcome from Hermano, who enjoyed helping us select our starters and wines.

With the trail card you can enjoy a choice of 3 starters during their opening hours.

quartol

We received a very warm welcome from Ekrem at his luxurious Turkish restaurant. We could not decide what to have from the starter so he very kindly brought us out a mini section to try. We were so full at this stage but the food was so tasty we dug deep and found room.

Qartol are offering a choice of any starter on their menu between 4-10pm (except Tue).

Kathryn greeted us with a warm smile and made us perfect coffees. We tried the very chocolatey brownies that were freshly made and they were sensational.

The Mug Tree are offering a homemade cake and cream tea with tea or coffee 10am-2pm (not including 1-4th Sept) with the Trail Card.
